Chapter 802: Violent Temper

“How could you be feeling sick to your stomach all of a sudden? Have you not been eating properly when I wasn’t around?” Feng Mohan’s face remained grim.

His words were based on clear reasoning. Aunt always loved working with herbs and was obsessed with concocting medicines. Once she got busy, she often forgot to eat or sleep. As the princess, the servants didn’t dare to speak out.

“I’m really fine,” Liu Yusheng said, pushing herself up. Suddenly, she felt dizzy, and her steps faltered, nearly causing her to fall.

“Aunt!” Feng Mohan quickly caught her, and seeing her condition, he gritted his teeth and lifted her, heading quickly to a smaller hall. “Aunt, I’ll call for the imperial doctor to take a look right now! If you’re not feeling well, just close your eyes and rest.”

Chenxiang and Zisu were a little slower to catch up, but when they arrived, they saw the emperor quickly carrying the princess to the small hall. Both of their expressions changed slightly as they hurried to follow.

“Xiao Feng’er, stop shaking, put me down,” Liu Yusheng said, patting his arm, her brow furrowing tightly. The acid in her stomach started to rise again. “If you keep shaking… I’m going to throw up!”

“Throw up if you need to, it’s fine,” Feng Mohan said, his face even paler than hers. Once they entered the smaller hall, he placed her on the soft couch. “Aunt, wait here, the imperial doctor will be here soon! I’ll immediately order someone to investigate. If anyone dares to harm you, I’ll annihilate them and their entire family!”

Watching the young man speak incoherently, his anxiousness causing sweat to bead on his forehead, Liu Yusheng was both amused and helpless. She raised her hand as if to say something, but suddenly, everything went dark, and she lost consciousness.

In her dazed state, it seemed like she sank into a dream.

The scene in the dream was one she was very familiar with.

Her own space.

The scent of medicine wafted through the air, and the spring water was crystal clear.

What was most unusual, however, was that above the spiritual spring pool, there were two glowing dots.

They were the size of a rice grain, surrounded by fluorescence, spinning around as if playfully chasing each other.

Mist gathered in the spiritual spring water, rising in wisps, slowly surrounding the glowing dots.

The entire spiritual spring pool gradually became more radiant.

Meanwhile, in the nearby medicinal field, the medicinal plants grew, their leaves thick and lush.

Liu Yusheng stood there, momentarily stunned, unable to understand why such an unusual phenomenon was occurring in her space.

As she regained her senses, the glowing dots had moved in front of her, bouncing up and down, constantly brushing against her cheeks.

They brought a refreshing coolness, dispersing the heaviness in her chest and making her feel completely at ease.

“What are you two? Little spirits of the space?” Liu Yusheng smiled and reached out, gently tapping the two little glowing dots with her fingertip.

The glowing orbs didn’t retreat in surprise. Instead, they eagerly rushed to stop at her fingertip, much like little children vying for attention, which was amusing.

While Liu Yusheng was playfully interacting with the glowing dots in her space, she had no idea that, during her unconscious state, Feng Mohan had nearly caused an uproar at the King’s Manor.

“Convey my imperial order! Shut the gates of the King’s Manor! Anyone who dares to leave during this time will be killed on the spot!”

“Arrest all the kitchen staff! Bring them to me for interrogation! Who dares to plot against the Princess? Find the mastermind and execute them by death of a thousand cuts!”

“Tell the Imperial Medical Academy’s old fools to get here within the hour. If they’re late, they’ll be beaten with one hundred strikes!”

The servants of the King’s Manor were kneeling all over the place, and the imperial physicians who hurried over were trembling in fear, too afraid to make a sound.

The sudden collapse of the Princess Consort had enraged the Emperor. That alone was enough to make them miserable.

What worried them even more was the identity of the Princess. She was the one closest to the King’s heart. If anything were to happen to her, the Nanling court would be in chaos when His Highness returned!

The imperial doctors, trembling with fear, carefully took the pulse of the unconscious woman.

Feng Mohan stood rigidly beside the soft couch, his gaze fixed intently on her without moving an inch. Beneath the wide sleeves of his robe, his hands trembled uncontrollably.

If anything happened to her, he would make sure everyone accompanied her in death!

“Your Majesty! Reporting to Your Majesty—”

“What is it?!” Feng Mohan grabbed the doctor by the collar with such force that he nearly lifted the man off the ground.

“R-Reporting to Your Majesty!” The old doctor’s feet dangled slightly in the air; not daring to struggle, he hurriedly answered, “I have determined that Her Highness exhibits signs of a slippery pulse. Her Highness is with child!”

Feng Mohan froze. “What did you say? Say it again.”

“Your Majesty, after repeated confirmation, I can state with certainty—Her Highness is indeed pregnant. She is just over one month along!”

The other doctors quickly chimed in as well, “Your Majesty, Her Highness indeed has a pregnancy pulse, without a doubt!”

“Your Majesty, my diagnosis is the same—it is a pregnancy pulse! The reason Her Highness felt unwell and lost consciousness is likely due to the early manifestations of pregnancy. Let her rest for a while, and she will soon awaken.”

Releasing the old imperial doctor, Feng Mohan took a few steps back and slowly sat down in a chair, turning his gaze toward the still-unconscious woman.

While everyone remained uncertain of the Emperor’s thoughts, full of anxiety and fear, they suddenly saw the young man slowly break into a smile, the ferocity in his eyes gradually fading.

“A pregnancy pulse… she’s with child… good, good! Hahaha! I must thank all of you imperial doctors for making the trip—there will be rich rewards for you all later!”

“Thank you, Your Majesty!” The doctors secretly let out a collective sigh of relief.

As long as there were no beatings or beheadings, that was reward enough.

Even though the Emperor was smiling now, it didn’t erase the fact that moments earlier his violent fury had been on full display.

The words ‘If you are late, one hundred strokes’ still rang in their ears.

Had it not been for the fact that their medical skills were still of use to the Princess, the punishment back then might have been far worse than just one hundred strokes.

Chenxiang and Zisu, having received pardons, had already risen from their knees. At this moment, they exchanged glances in secret, still filled with lingering fear.

Just moments ago, when the Princess had lost consciousness, the Emperor’s complete loss of composure still sent chills down their spines upon reflection.

The young man who always greeted the Prince and Princess with a smiling face, like an innocent youth just grown up, had actually shown such a terrifying side.

His entire body radiated murderous intent, and his eyes had been fierce and bloodshot.

Zisu cast a discreet glance at the young man. The Emperor’s concern for the Princess was anything but ordinary.

Princess, do you know?

“Someone, prepare the carriage!” The two maidservants were still anxious and fearful when they suddenly heard the young man issue another order.

Immediately afterward, they saw him lift the still-unconscious Princess into his arms and stride outward.

“Your Majesty!” Zisu quickly took two steps forward and, summoning her courage, spoke up, “May I ask where Your Majesty intends to take Her Highness? She is unwell and currently unconscious. This maid believes it would be unwise to move her. Your Majesty, perhaps you could wait until she awakens…”

“The Princess is with child. As her royal nephew, I have the duty to care for her in the Prince’s absence,” Feng Mohan said as he continued walking without pause. “You two are her personal maids—she is used to having you by her side. Go and pack; you will accompany her into the palace!”

“Your Majesty, this… this is inappropriate…” Zisu said anxiously.

The young man turned back, his gaze icy cold.

It caught in her throat, and she dared not utter another word.

The carriage moved steadily and cautiously; the coachman didn’t dare drive too fast, fearing that any jolt might disturb the woman inside and provoke the Emperor’s wrath

Zisu and Chenxiang were also inside the carriage, both keeping their heads lowered and their eyes downcast, not daring to look up.

The woman had been placed on the spacious long seat at the very back of the carriage. She was still unconscious, completely unaware of what was happening around her.

Feng Mohan sat by her side, both arms stretched out protectively along the outer edge of the seat. He didn’t seem to mind the strain of holding his arms in that position for so long, showing no sign of discomfort.
