FID – Chapter 643

Chapter 643: “How do you know I don’t like her?”

“Why is this happening, why is this happening…” Kang Ziyu muttered in a panic, standing at the entrance of the Liu family courtyard.

Even the King could not interfere in the affairs of the aristocratic families.

Li Junyue was a member of the Li family, so why did Matriarch Li leave without saying a word?

It was clearly the Liu family that had deceived the Li family, and it was Li Junyue’s fake death that allowed her to escape from the Li family.

The Li family was in the right! Even the King couldn’t distort the facts!

Wasn’t His Highness afraid of the court impeaching him?!

Wasn’t the Li family supposed to have already made plans on how to negotiate with the Liu family and what benefits they would extract? Why did everything suddenly change overnight?

Had the Li family truly let Li Junyue go so easily?

Liu Muqiu turned and looked at Kang Ziyu with a smile. “Miss Kang, don’t you understand yet? You always think the Li family can control me because you still think I am the old Li Junyue, the one who was holding everything together alone. But now, I am Liu Muqiu. Everyone in the Liu family courtyard will support me. I have backing.”

She was no longer a solitary person.

She had people who were like family, even though they were not connected by blood.

She was Liu Muqiu.

“Feeling proud now?” Kang Ziyu stared intently at Liu Muqiu, her eyes turning increasingly bloodshot. “Are you showing off in front of me? Seeing me fall, do you want to step on my head and flaunt your power? Let me tell you, whether you’re Li Junyue or Liu Muqiu, you’re only fit to help me with my shoes!”

Liu Muqiu turned and walked away.

Brother Zhiqiu was right, this person was completely insane.

“Li Junyue!…”

“I am Liu Muqiu!” She stopped in her tracks and firmly stated. She was a Liu family member!

From now on, she would always be one of them, and no crown could replace that!

Kang Ziyu’s eyes were bloodshot, her fingers tightly clenched. Suddenly, she lunged at the straight-backed girl. “You bitch! You ruined me, stepping on me to get where you are today, I’ll kill you!”

The person squatting on the wall was about to jump down, but saw their Little White Lotus extend her hand to push and then immediately slapped the crazy woman across the face.

The sound of the slap was loud.

“You—how dare you hit me?!” Holding her face, the crazy woman repeated the same words, her face full of disbelief.

Gritting her teeth, Liu Muqiu secretly rubbed the burning hand behind her back. She lifted her chin slightly and asked back, “What’s wrong with hitting you?”

Her Brother Zhiqiu said she could walk with her head held high.

She had a strong backing now—no longer the pitiful person who had to look at others’ faces to survive.

Liu Yusheng, Shi Xianrou, and others, crowded by the doorframe, were peeking. They originally wanted to rush forward to protect her but quietly withdrew when they saw this scene.

Their Little White Lotus had grown thorns. When she got angry, she could still be fierce.

On the other side, Kang Ziyu was completely enraged. She frantically charged forward again.

Liu Zhiqiu jumped down from the wall and grabbed Liu Muqiu, who was also charging at the other woman, trying to stop her.

“Brother Zhiqiu, she’s still throwing a tantrum!”

“Someone is already dealing with her, and you still want to bite back?”

… She wasn’t a dog.

Thud, thud, thud.

A fast-moving carriage appeared at the end of the narrow path and quickly reached the front of the Liu family courtyard.

Seeing the person stepping down from the carriage, the previously deranged Kang Ziyu suddenly began trembling all over, retreating in fear before turning to run away.

She was grabbed by the person who got out of the carriage and pulled back toward the vehicle.

“Apologies, apologies! My crazy wife had run out to cause a scene. We’ll take her away now, sorry to trouble everyone!”

The man at the forefront, who looked honest and simple, gave a bow of apology toward the Liu family but didn’t approach to ingratiate himself. Instead, he signaled to the servants he brought along to pull Kang Ziyu into the carriage.

“No, no, I won’t go back, I won’t go back! Let go of me! Jiang Mingze, you beast, you devil! I don’t want to go back!” Kang Ziyu struggled desperately, and in her desperation, she cried out toward Liu Muqiu, “Let them leave! Li Junyue, Liu… Liu Muqiu, let them leave! I won’t go back! I’ll die if I go back, they’ll beat me to death!”

Liu Muqiu stood silently beside Liu Zhiqiu, watching this scene quietly.

Liu Yusheng and Shi Xianrou also came out, observing the drama unfolding.

The man at the front was someone she had seen before at the county office—he was Kang Ziyu’s husband.

Though he appeared simple and honest, the look in his eyes when he glanced at Kang Ziyu was indescribably cold and menacing.

People like him were more ruthless than villains.

No wonder he was able to scare the once-arrogant Kang Ziyu so badly.

Perhaps it was true that evil people get what they deserve.

Kang Ziyu brought this upon herself, and she deserved this retribution.

Seeing no way out and with everyone watching coldly, Kang Ziyu laughed maniacally, shouting curses, “You’re all standing by and doing nothing; may you all have a miserable death! Li Junyue, do you think you’re doing well now, watching me suffer? I curse you to never get what you want! You can only be a puppet in the Liu family! Liu Zhiqiu, a person like him has no feelings, no heart! He’s just a stone! He will never like you!”

Liu Muqiu’s calmness was shattered by her last words, her face going pale.

“How do you know I don’t like her?” Liu Zhiqiu sneered, placing his hand on Liu Muqiu’s shoulder, “Little white lotus, let’s go home.”

With his strength pulling her, they walked toward home. Liu Muqiu was still in a daze.

The anger and unease stirred by Kang Ziyu’s words had already vanished, and all that was left in her mind were Liu Zhiqiu’s words: ‘How do you know I don’t like her?’

Behind them, Shi Xianrou whispered to Liu Yusheng, “Nannan, do you think your second brother likes her, or doesn’t he?”

“I don’t know either. It’s the first time I’ve heard my second brother speak like that—always keeping people guessing.” Liu Yusheng looked confused.

Her second brother used to speak carelessly too, but he was very direct. Now, it was the same, yet she just couldn’t understand him like she used to.

“Xianrou, what do you think my second brother really means?”

“How should I know?” Shi Xianrou shrugged.

As they walked, they speculated about Liu Zhiqiu’s ambiguous words.

Meanwhile, at the carriage, Kang Ziyu was left stunned by Liu Zhiqiu’s remark, but was dragged into the carriage by Jiang Mingze.

Once the carriage started moving, she came to her senses and started struggling desperately.

Two strong servants held her down tightly, and her hair was yanked up. She looked up and met Jiang Mingze’s cold, sinister face.

Kang Ziyu shuddered violently, fear rising in her eyes. She shook her head and pleaded, “N-No, I won’t, I won’t dare anymore!”

Pah! Pah! Pah!

The slaps, one after another, landed harshly on her face, instantly causing blood to spill from her mouth and nose.

“Bitch! Didn’t you think you could run? Try running again! A promiscuous whore! What, couldn’t I satisfy you? Immediately thinking about flirting with men when you turn around?!”

“No, no I didn’t…” She shook her head desperately, her words garbled by the pain.

“Do you think anyone would want you, looking like this now? Do you still want to divorce me? Let me tell you, as long as you’re alive, you’ll remain my wife! I can do whatever I want to you!”

The slapping wasn’t enough. Just thinking about how she had acted in front of the Liu family made Jiang Mingze furious.

He lifted his foot and kicked Kang Ziyu with force, “When you didn’t marry me, you were already thinking about seducing the King! Now you’re a faded flower, yet still won’t give up. You’re still trying to get close to other men! Slut, whore!”
