FID – Chapter 634

Chapter 634: I’m in a hurry

“By the way, I can also free up space for you two.”

Liu Zhiqiu immediately became alert. “Where are you taking Nannan?”

“Private matter, no comment.”

Liu Zhiqiu and Qian Wanjin exchanged a look, both lunging at him in an attempt to stop him.

Before they could even touch the corner of his clothes, two figures appeared in front of them, blocking their path.

When they recognized who it was, Liu Zhiqiu stopped and rolled her eyes. “Aunt Hong, Uncle Lan, are you two really going to help him with this?”

Wei Hong looked up to the sky. “Master and Nannan are betrothed. It’s all reasonable and lawful.”

“But he’s barging into the inner courtyard, and there are two young ladies inside!”

“There’s a wall separating them. Besides, our master won’t spare a second glance at anyone other than Nannan. He won’t stay in the inner courtyard either. Why are you panicking?” Wei Lan said dismissively.

It almost seemed like they were implying their master was some sort of notorious rapist. Why would he stoop to that level?

Qian Wanjin calmed down after thinking about it.

Well, now he could relax.

Then, remembering Feng Qingbai’s earlier comment about ‘freeing up space,’ he couldn’t help but feel a little curious.

He nudged Liu Zhiqiu with his elbow, leaning in with a mischievous look. “Zhiqiu, want to go? To the inner courtyard?”

Liu Zhiqiu flashed him a grin, showing a row of white teeth. “Xiao Jinzi, you’ve spent all your brainpower on business, but everything else is seriously lacking.”

He patted him on the shoulder. “Stay put, don’t overthink things.”

“What do you mean ‘overthink’? This Young Master and Xiao Shi are already betrothed! It’s reasonable, lawful, and proper!”

The man ignored him entirely and went back to his room.

Qian Wanjin slumped. He had to go alone?

Well, never mind, he suddenly felt a bit weak in the legs.

Meanwhile, Feng Qingbai had already slipped through the window into the girl’s room, causing a small gasp of surprise.

“You’re here, quickly, go out, go out!” As soon as she saw him, Liu Yusheng immediately tried to push him out.

Feng Qingbai, however, pulled her into his arms. “Where should I go?”

“There are two young ladies in the courtyard!” Liu Yusheng stomped her foot.

“They’re not in the same room, what are you afraid of?”

“That doesn’t matter!”

Although they weren’t in the same room, Xianrou and Muqiu were sleeping in the rooms next to hers!

If there was even the slightest noise here, they would hear it, and how could she face anyone after that!

Feng Qingbai chuckled softly, pulling her even closer. “Don’t worry, they won’t hear anything.”

With a swift movement, he spun around and carried the young lady out of the inner courtyard.

It wasn’t until the two of them had been gone for some time that a head peeked out from the next room. After confirming no one was in the middle room, the person tiptoed over to Shi Xianrou’s room, almost whispering in a rush, “Xianrou, did you hear? His Highness barged into Nannan’s room at night!”

Shi Xianrou had just taken off her clothes and was about to get into bed when she heard the comment. She casually pulled back the thin blanket and sat up. “You’re making a big deal out of nothing. Haven’t you seen that back in the capital, His Highness was sneaking around every night, even under the noses of the elders in the Liu family?”

“……” Liu Muqiu was shocked.

So, it turns out she had a small worldview, never realizing just how wild the King could be.

After a while, she went over and squeezed onto the bed, sitting shoulder to shoulder with Shi Xianrou, looking as if they were about to have a long, serious conversation. “But this could harm Nannan’s reputation.”

“They’re already betrothed. With the way they are, it’s only a matter of time before they get married. As long as they’re happy, who cares about what others think? Besides, these things only concern those involved. No one will spread rumors.”

“But, what if something goes wrong?” Liu Muqiu said worriedly. “When a man and woman get together, one mistake could lead to disaster. Such things have happened in big families before, and the consequences are rarely good.”

Liu Muqiu furrowed her brows, thinking about what had been said. “In families like the Li family, if such a thing happens, the better outcome is for the couple to marry immediately, like with Li Junhua. If the man refuses to take responsibility, the woman’s fate is either to be drowned in a pig cage or beaten to death with a staff. The ones who suffer are always the women.”

Seeing her troubled expression, Shi Xianrou couldn’t help but smile lightly. “You worry too much. The men from the Liu family are all dependable, not like those rotten apples you’ve met before. There’s no comparison. If Feng Qingbai didn’t have Nannan, he could turn the world upside down. Just knowing this is enough.”

“But how can you be so sure?”

Shi Xianrou smiled and leaned back. “Haven’t you heard of the story between him and Nannan? They were childhood sweethearts.” With that, she began to tell the story of how the two grew up together, sharing their childhood memories, their unbreakable bond, and how their relationship had always been deep and steadfast.

The more Liu Muqiu heard, the more astonished she became, her eyes growing wider with each twist in the tale.

The conversation inside was long and full of emotions, while outside, the lovers shared their own moments, filled with warmth and tenderness.

Feng Qingbai didn’t take the girl far, to the roof of the winery.

The night air was warm, the stars glimmering like dreams above.

The moonlight bathed everything in a gentle glow.

The rooftops of the wine house stretched out beneath them, casting shadows, while the distant sounds of the countryside—frogs croaking and the river murmuring—filled the silence.

Everything only made that intense, wild feeling grow stronger, making it impossible to stop.

In the vast wilderness, under the moonlit starry sky in the familiar village of Xinghua, accepting the man’s passionate kisses, Liu Yusheng’s heart raced faster than ever before.

Nervous, thrilling, sweet.

By the time he released her, sweat had dampened her hair.

“If only the capital and Xinghua were closer,” he mused, showing rare childishness in front of her. At this moment, he lay on top of her, feeling frustrated.

“Pfft!” Liu Yusheng chuckled softly.

If they were closer, was he planning to come and tease her every day?

“After August, just receiving envoys and handling the negotiations between the two countries will take months,” he said, rolling over to lie back on the roof, pulling her into his arms. “Shengsheng, this year, I might still not be able to spend the New Year with you.”

Although disappointed, Liu Yusheng still smiled at him. “National affairs are important. We can’t spend it together this year, but there’s always next year. If not next year, then there’s always a lifetime, we’re not in a hurry.”

“I’m quite anxious,” the man said seriously, gazing down at her.

Liu Yusheng twisted a bit on him but couldn’t get a grip; his body was solid and hard.

Annoyed, she punched his chest muscle hard.

Feng Qingbai chuckled, holding her little hand. “Before, when I returned to Xinghua Village, I never got to go out and play with you properly. How about we take a walk around these days?”

“Sounds good! Since Qian Wanjin and Xianrou are here, we can go together for the fun of it,” Liu Yusheng nodded eagerly, crawling up a bit on his body. “Now that the reconstruction in the county town is all done, it’s just in time for today’s Qixi Festival. Feng Qingbai, let’s go to the Magpie Bridge Festival.”

The three characters, Magpie Bridge Festival, were whispered by the young girl into the man’s ear with a breathy tone, her pitch rising, alluring.

Under the moonlight, after speaking, the girl lifted her head, curling her lips, her eyes gleaming with seductive charm, like a demoness who could steal a life.

Feng Qingbai’s gaze darkened, and he flipped over, pressing the girl back down beneath him.

Under the starry sky, the only sounds left were the croak of frogs and the hum of insects, mingling with the gentle flow of the river. Occasionally, a faint, suppressed moan escaped from the girl.

Abrupt and shameful.

Beneath the winery, a shadow crept stealthily closer in this direction.
