  Chapter 531: Sending Betrothal Gifts

  ”What color is your heart?” Someone at the back asked.

  ”Of course it’s red, what nonsense!” Qian Wanjin blurted out.

  ”Words alone are no proof. How about I take it out for us to check?”

  Only then did Qian Wanjin find a chill creeping up his back. He turned around tremblingly. Lo and behold, who was it if not Feng Qingbai who came from with the light behind his back at the door?

  ”Aren’t you supposed to be in the palace at this time?” Why did he appear? Also, why did he choose to show up when he was bitterly spouting terrible things about him?

  ”Fortunately, I’m not in the palace.” Feng Qingbai raised his lips and sneered.

  ”Father-in-law.” The man looked in his direction, nodded and smiled.

  Liu Dalin instantly rose from the chair as if his butt was stabbed by a needle. “What father-in-law? You haven’t even gotten married yet. It’s too early to address me like that!”

  If it wasn’t for this kid’s abacus, how could he have agreed so happily?

  Everything was within his calculations, it was all a ruse!

  It pisses him off!

  Feng Qingbai’s smile remained, “When our marriage is set, I should change my words and call you father.”

  Muffled laughter sounded all around. Grandpa Liu, Grandma Liu, and Chen Xiulan all blushed. Qian Wanjin, Shi Xianrou, and Fu Yuzheng couldn’t make fun of their elders, so they could only hold themselves back and look up at the sky.

  Uncle Liu was really far behind to fight against Feng Qingbai.

  This was the result of Feng Qingbai not using any means against the Liu family. Otherwise, Uncle Liu wouldn’t have even had the chance to stamp his foot.

  Liu Dalin’s face twitched. Was Nannan comforting him or angering him?

  Who wanted that bastard to be filial? Also, partly a son-in-law and partly a son!

  However, what Nannan said was right. When he became partly his son, how could he not teach him a lesson? Would the bastard dare to rebel?

  With that figured out, Liu Dalin sat down unperturbed. He stared at Feng Qingbai with eyes overflowing with vigorous fighting intent.

  Feng Qingbai face-palmed. The old man was a mountain that could not be crossed, yet Nannan awakened him. There was no doubt about it, he shouldn’t think about living in peace in the future.

  Qian Wanjin wanted to give Liu Yusheng a thumbs up.

  No favoritism on both sides, just pitting her father against her husband!

  After the little commotion, each of the servants responded to Feng Qingbai’s command. Soon, ten boxes were placed in the living room.

  Qian Wanjin stepped forward to open the one, and his eyes lit up when he saw what was inside. “Feng Qingbai, tell me honestly. Have you been embezzling and taking bribes?”

  Each of the ten boxes had different contents worth thousands of gold!

  Top-quality silk and satin, huge Southern Sea pearls, famous calligraphy and paintings of century-old masters, antique jades… Gold and silver and other common things were placed in front of these boxes, none of which were cheap!

  Fu Yuzheng stepped forward and was equally amazed at the contents. “These are all treasures in the palace, and they cannot be estimated by value alone. There are plenty of items that even His Majesty is reluctant to take out to appreciate.” For fear that a touch would damage them, that would be heartbreaking.

  Grandpa Liu, Grandma Liu and the Liu Dalin couple had no idea about these items, but when they heard Qian Wanjin’s accusation and Fu Yuzheng’s commentary, they shivered a little.

He squatted in front of the boxes and refused to move, holding the edge of one box with both hands.  “Feng Qingbai, with such abundant betrothal gifts, Nannan can’t possibly use them up. Why don’t I take some away? Otherwise, they will take up a lot of space in the manor. Like this pearl, it’s so big and beautiful, but it’s too much of an inconvenience to wear it. Lucky Nannan herself doesn’t like wearing accessories. How about giving it to me? I’ll find a place to store it!”

  Liu Yusheng patted both of his claws with one hand. “Where are you taking them? This is my betrothal gifts. If you take them away, are you going to marry Feng Qingbai?”

  Qian Wanjin’s face immediately froze. He stood up and walked out. “I’m going to vomit.”

  That was one neat move.

  Feng Qingbai didn’t have any other reaction. He sat on the chair and smiled at his little girl.

  His little girl was especially protective of the things he gave her.
