FID – Chapter 467

Chapter 467: Something Happened to Zhixia

Grandma Liu waved her hands: “It’s not like I haven’t suffered before. In the past, our house didn’t look as decent as this small courtyard.”

Chen Xiulan also covered her lips and laughed. “Exactly. In the past, we didn’t even have decent furniture when we were suffering, but we still came through. Your courtyard here is already the top of the best if compared with the past.”

Chen Xiulan also sang in tune with Grandma Liu. “Mother, I’ll live with you here. Two people can squeeze in a bed.”

”Okay, it’s settled. Nannan, ask someone to bring me and your mother’s change of clothes over later.”

”Will do, Grandma!” Liu Yusheng answered crisply.

She wouldn’t persuade her grandmother and mother. This solution was unwise.

  Veterans were abler than recruits.

  What did her Grandma say?

”Yuzheng, don’t try to hide from us. Axiu can help us find out where you hide. If you run away, I’ll run with you. If you’re not afraid to torment my old bones, you can continue hiding in another place.”

Fu Yuzheng was so stumped that she didn’t dare to think about it.

Since the grandma said so, she would definitely stand by it.

Could she really be cruel enough to let grandma follow her to hide from time to time?

They had already followed her  ass, so why should she keep hiding?

When Grandma Liu went to see the new residence with Chen Xiulan, Fu Yuzheng pulled Liu Yusheng and said, “Nannan, you-you help persuade Granny Liu and Aunt Liu. I won’t leave, nor run. Let them go back to the manor, all right? The environment here is really bad, and there are snakes and vipers creeping around among the people.”

”Then why are you still living here? If you want me to persuade grandmother and my mother also, why don’t you go back with us to the manor?” Liu Yusheng grinned.

  Fu Yuzheng was speechless.

If she were to go back, why did she have to run in the first place?

”You have concerns and are reluctant to go, yet you have to escape like this. You’re not the only one who’s suffering. Yuzheng, life isn’t that long. There are always things that are more important than what you can’t let go of now.” Liu Yusheng hadn’t gone through that kind of harrowing experience and knew that she was not qualified to persuade her. She could only say this sentence that expressed volumes.

  Fu Yuzheng fell silent.

Today’s events happened too abruptly, and she was not prepared at all.

She didn’t even know when they found her hiding here, or if they knew from the beginning.

She understood the meaning behind Liu Yusheng’s words, but she couldn’t pretend that nothing had happened. She couldn’t involve Zhixia and the Liu family.

A nausea suddenly surged in Fu Yuzheng’s chest. She tried to hold it back forcibly, but she failed, so she ran to the corner of the house and retched.

Liu Yusheng was alarmed and followed her, taking her pulse after she finished dry heaving.

Fu Yuzheng was busy trying to shake her hand away, with panic at the bottom of her eyes.

  ”Yuzheng, you’re pregnant.”

”I’m not!” Fu Yuzheng quickly denied.

Seeing her so eager to deny, Liu Yusheng pursed her lips and said, “If you really decided not to be with my brother, you can’t have this child. You’re a single woman. You’ll be poked and prodded. I can help you abort it.”

”No!” Fu Yuzheng’s reaction turned suddenly violent, her hands protecting her abdomen. “This is my child with Zhixia! I want him!”

”If you give birth to the child, do you know what you will face in the future?”

”I know,” Fu Yuzheng was well aware, but the light shimmering in her eyes was firm and undaunted. “I’m not afraid.”

”You have the courage to have this child, but why don’t you have the courage to stay with my brother and face the future storms together?”

  ”…” Fu Yuzheng was speechless.

She had the courage to want this child because she had love in her heart that could sustain her through all hardships.

Just as when hatred bored in her heart and she was struggling to survive in the cracks, she vowed to take revenge.

  However, this was incomparable.

She left just to protect them.

”I know what you’re afraid of, but you’ve only cared about your own thoughts. Have you asked my brother if he’s afraid or if we’re afraid? Yuzheng, in fact, my family already knows what happened to you.”

Fu Yuzheng’s head jerked up. Her pupils dilated, and all that flashed inside was embarrassment and panic.

”But today, grandma came with my mother. It’s inconvenient for grandpa and my father since they’re men, otherwise they would have come together. Do you know why? We’re not sympathizing with you, or pitying you because we’re a family. A family will always be in the same boat.” Liu Yusheng looked at her steadily, not letting her dodge. “Yuzheng, no one dislikes you. No one treats you as a burden. It’s you who puts chains on yourself. I know you’re tough-minded. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been able to walk in such a difficult situation until today and avenged your hatred. Where has your courage gone?  We dare to face everything with you. Do you dare to stand beside us?”

”I…” Fu Yuzheng’s lips trembled, and her eyes shook.

She did not know how to answer that rhetorical question.

She didn’t know. She couldn’t process anything. Her mind was in turmoil, and her heart was in chaos. By now, she no longer knew exactly what she was afraid of from the very start.

Was she afraid of the world’s ridicule, afraid of dragging Zhixia, or afraid of the Liu family’s accusatory and disgusting gaze?

She was afraid that when they knew everything, they would look at her with disgust.

At this time, someone suddenly thumped the courtyard door outside.

”Elder Madam, Miss Liu, are you there?!”

Liu Yusheng and Fu Yuzheng looked at each other and immediately walked over to open the door.

The voice they heard was the voice of a steward of the King’s Manor.

When they opened the door, it was indeed the steward of the King’s Manor, panting and looking a little pale.

  ”What is it?”

”Miss Liu, please head back to the King’s Manor. Something has happened to Mister Liu. He has been carried back, and His Highness asked me to report the news to you, asking you to return immediately to help with his medical treatment.”

Fu Yuzheng staggered and almost fainted.

  Something happened to Zhixia?

H-How could something happen? What happened?

Fu Yuzheng grabbed the little steward’s lapel and asked him sternly. “What happened to Zhixia? Where is Xue Qinglian? Why didn’t you let Xue Qinglian heal him first?”

”Mister Liu was stabbed by his former classmate and was seriously injured. Mister Xue is at his wit’s end, so he ordered me to fetch Miss Liu. Miss Liu, please get on the carriage. It’s urgent!”

Grandma Liu and Chen Xiulan also ran out. They were all so anxious that their faces turned white. “Quick, let’s go back!”

The short journey back to the King’s Manor in the carriage, Fu Yuzheng kept shivering. The steward’s statement that Mister Xue was at his wit’s end kept ringing in her ears.

Xue Qinglian did not dare to heal him, which meant that he couldn’t do so. Just where exactly was Zhixia wounded? How badly was he hurt?

If-if something happened to Zhixia, she wouldn’t be able to live.

  She went with him!

When they arrived at the door of the King’s Manor, Fu Yuzheng jumped down sharply before the carriage stopped. Fortunately, Liu Yusheng nimbly pulled her. Otherwise, she would have fallen down.

This action scared Liu Yusheng into a cold sweat.

She was carrying a life with her. She was really anxious and moved recklessly.

”Zhixia! Where is Zhixia! Where is Zhixia!” While running at full speed inside the King’s Manor, Fu Yuzheng grabbed a servant she ran into and asked.
