FID – Chapter 443

Chapter 443: With Backers, Fattened Courage

”Great Grandpa, Great Grandma, Aunt Liu, I’m here!” Outside the hall, the little cannonball stomped in and planted his butt next to Grandma Liu. He was none other than Feng Mohan, whom they hadn’t seen for many days.

With backers by his side, he was getting bold again.

”Xiao Feng’er, can you go out of the palace again?” Grandma Liu patted the boy’s head and asked with a smile.

”Great Grandma, I’ve suffered. Imperial Uncle  doesn’t want to bring me here. If I did not think of my own way, you probably can’t even see me!” His Imperial Uncle was awful. He could hardly write down all his crimes, so when his uncle wasn’t anywhere nearby, he listed them all for his great grandma to hear.

One thing would lead to another. There would always be someone who could straighten his Imperial Uncle.

The little boy’s appearance made everyone laugh. Grandpa Liu said, “When your uncle bullies you, just tell me later. I’ll avenge you.”

”Okay, I’ll tell you later,” Feng Mohan said while glancing at Feng Qingbai proudly. He had the support of grandpa and grandma. His Imperial Uncle wouldn’t dare to do anything to him.

A layer of Feng Qingbai’s face darkened.

Liu Yusheng watched on and pursed her lips in joy. It was only during these times that Feng Mohan dared to jump on Feng Qingbai’s head, but Feng Qingbai couldn’t do anything to him.

While the group was laughing and joking, Feng Qingbai sat down next to Liu Yusheng. “Gloating?”

”Not at all. I was watching your defenseless look. It’s funny.” The young girl smiled like a little fox.

While people weren’t paying attention, Feng Qingbai put his lips near her ear and whispered, “If you go back to the room with me, there’ll be more fun.”

Liu Yusheng’s ears burned. She glared at him, turned her head and dared not talk.

Go back to the room with him? Dream on.

Wasn’t that sending a sheep into the tiger’s mouth?

Meanwhile, Feng Mohan had already congratulated Liu Zhixia. He knew Liu Zhixia claimed the top stop when he came out of the palace.

As long as no accident happened to Liu Zhixia, he’d certainly be among the top three. Afterward, there would be another powerful supporter around him.

The days would naturally get better and better.

Gone were the days that the King of Nanling’s Manor was empty. Now it was crowded and lively. From time to time, peals of laughter could be heard, and the faces of the people in the palace were infected with their hearty laughter.

This evening, the table for the evening meal was filled to capacity.

Although there were no banquets due to the special nature of the King’s Manor, Liu Zhixia preferred to sit together like now, talking, laughing and bickering.

It was more relaxing and pleasant.

As for those invitations that piled up somewhere, he didn’t even bother to look at them.

They were nothing more than those who wanted to claim connections with someone in the ranks in advance or draw an upstart to their side. There was no value to respond.

If he failed to achieve good results in the court exams, those families who handed him invitations could abandon him in a heartbeat.

If he wanted to venture to officialdom, he would naturally establish contacts in the future, but there was no need to rush for the moment.

After looking at the woman with gentle eyebrows and smile beside him, the depths of his eyes were stained with softness. What he was looking forward to now was his marriage with her.

In the past, he was in no hurry in this area, because he didn’t encounter someone who tempted him. Once they had met, she was carved into his heart, and he wanted her for life.

He wanted to give her forever.

He wanted to protect her under his wing for the rest of her life.

On the dining table, there was Qian Wanjin and Feng Mohan, so an awkward silence was impossible.

The two men joined forces, and sometimes they criticized ‘you kno’, and then roasted ‘you know’, that ‘you know’ despicable and mean; drawing a bunch of hatred.

Both had towering backers, so ‘you know’ could only gnash his teeth in hatred, but couldn’t do anything with the two of them.

The four elders watched the youngsters laughing and teasing, and the laughter was non-stop. After the meal, their faces were sore.

When they dispersed, Qian Wanjin was quite drunk. He reeked of alcohol when he talked, and his walking could turn into an eight shape.

He was still unconvinced and made an appointment for another round tomorrow.

By the time visitors were sent away, it was already deep into the night.

The four elders of the family were in an excited mood all day, and accompanied several juniors for a lively round. Not long after the meal, each went to wash up and sleep.

Feng Mohan was also thrown back to the palace again by Feng Qingbai.

When Feng Mohan was carried and sent away, he felt sad and angry.

He hadn’t even had time to bid his grandparents goodbye when he was already packed and sent back.

Till God knew when he’d be able to threaten his Imperial Uncle again.

The heated King’s Manor finally quieted down. Meanwhile, in the carriage driving to the Qian’s residence, Qian Wanjin was still mad with alcohol.

To prevent him from falling off the seat, Shi Xianrou could only hold him tightly.

Pumped with alcohol, he was akin to a lunatic. Who knew how much of his sobriety remained?

Qian Wanjin chattered away, enumerating Xue Qinglian, Feng Qingbai, Liu Zhixia and Feng Mohan’s wrongdoings.

He expressed his dislike of the earth and the heavens, all the people he knew; on the whole, everyone was an eyesore.

His excessive energy made Shi Xianrou smile.

He was whatever he looked like, and he looked cute in her eyes.

He made her like him to the core.
