FID – Chapter 428

Chapter 428: Won’’t Die, My Heart Aches

The sharp eyes of the woman sitting opposite him immediately swept towards the streets of Chuanliu.

When her eyes touched the speeding carriage, she curled her lips and smiled, “Uncle Qian, let’s talk about the tea plantation later. Please excuse me. I’ll be leaving first.”

After leaving these words, the woman directly jumped out of the window, stepping on the surrounding store banner lever, and sprinting after the carriage.

In the private room, Qian Baihao poured himself another glass of wine and slowly but leisurely sipped it, the corners of his eyes and eyebrows stretched cozily.

His bastard returned to the capital without entering the house.

The carriage was going in that direction. He was obviously rushing to the Shi Manor.

  He was finally onboard.

Qian Wanjin was also stroking his chin while calculating how to express his momentum and anger, and how to let the woman coax him. The cold carriage curtain swung a little, and then a gust of wind blew around him.

When he regained his senses, he stiffly turned his neck and met the red-clad woman’s glowing eyes.

”Shi-Shi Xianrou! My carriage is still running! Do really think your martial arts are terrific, barging in like this, huh?!” Had her foot slipped, his carriage would have run over her at such a fast speed!

Seeing her flying in like this, his heart almost jumped out!

Shi Xianrou smiled at the man and raised an eyebrow: “Where are you going? The Qian Mansion is not in this direction.”

Qian Wanjin’s ears burned, but he stubbornly stretched his neck. “It’s none of your business where I go. The capital is so big, and I can go wherever I want, you know?”

  ”To my house?”

”Who said I’m going to your house?!” Qian Wanjin jumped up. The carriage was short, and once he stood up, his head directly knocked the carriage roof.

The expected pain did not hit him. Instead, he felt a soft warmth atop his head.

She put her hand on top of his head. With his impulse, the back of her hand hit the roof of the carriage with a thud.

  The impact was thus clear.

”What are you doing? Can’t you just behave?” Shi Xianrou felt helpless. She withdrew her hand and pulled him to sit again.

Qian Wanjin’s eyes slid to the back of her hand. A red patch was too visible on the whiteness.

  It was very eye-catching.

”You, why did you block me? My head is hard, and a bump won’t kill me.”

”You won’t die, but my heart hurts, ah.”

She was half serious and half joking, but the corners of Qian Wanjin’s mouth inexorably curled up.

”…Who wants you to be distressed?”

He retorted rigidly, but Shi Xianrou stared at him, carefully examining his face.

Three months and nine days; she missed him.

”Why are you staring at me?” The man’s cheeks burned at his stare.

An unmarried lady kept staring intently at a man, has she no sense of shame?

  Although, he did look handsome.

”Why didn’t you send a message in advance before your return? I could have come to pick you up.” She indulged him.

Speaking of this, Qian Wanjin was angry. “You’re the one to talk. I left the capital for three months and nine days, and at least I left you a note before I left, but you never sent me a letter! Feng Qingbai has sent Lucky Nannan letters every now and then!”

He departed from the capital, but no one missed him.

”Jealous?” Aha, he already began to compare her with Feng Qingbai. His progress was quite pleasing.

”Who is jealous? It’s just a courtesy. I left you a note, so you should have also given me a letter back.”

”It’s my fault. I must change in the future, alright?”

”Humph! I just rushed back to the capital today and haven’t eaten yet. I’m hungry.”

”Shall we go and eat fried spring rolls?”

Qian Wanjin expressed dislike, “Fried spring rolls are for small eaters.”

Shi Xianrou replied, “Let’s go to the Qian’s Restaurant. After the meal, we’ll take out fried spring rolls.”

  The carriage immediately turned around.

Since Qian Wanjin had seen her, he naturally had no reason to visit the Shi Manor.

In his restaurant, he went directly to the private room on the third floor, sat down and began to order.

The shopkeeper followed behind, during which he frequently looked at Shi Xianrou.

He had been in the lobby and saw Miss Shi going upstairs with Master Qian. In between, he hadn’t seen the woman downstairs. How come in the blink of an eye, she entered from outside again?

”What are you looking at? Haven’t you seen her before?” Qian Wanjin frowned.

This old geezer, he had seen it. When they entered the door, his eyes kept falling on Shi Xianrou.

The shopkeeper immediately lowered his eyes, not daring to look again. His heart jumped. Did the Young Boss misunderstand that he has thoughts about Miss Shi?

God forbid, he was too old to be wronged like this!

Shi Xianrou had captured the man’s every expression and every move. The tips of her eyes curved higher and higher, until finally, she supported her jaw with one hand and stared straight at him.

Qian Wanjin quickly ordered the food, sent the shopkeeper away. He instructed him to let the waiter serve the dishes later, so that he did not have to come over to entertain them.

When he turned his head, he met the woman’s gaze: “What are you looking at? Do you look at good-looking men like this outside, huh?”

  ”Yes.”

”……” Surprisingly, Qian Wanjin was rendered speechless. Purple and red shades rose interchangeably on his face.

What does she mean by that?

She didn’t send him letters this time. Did she go to the streets to look at handsome men?

That was impossible. Shi Xianrou used to stay in the military camp, and all she saw were brawny and rough old men. Smooth-skinned and handsome men were nowhere to be seen.

So after returning to the capital, couldn’t she take her eyes off of good-looking men?

  ”Shi Xianrou! ——”

”You are the only handsome man in my eyes. No one else is as good as you.”

Phew, Qian Wanjin’s fire was extinguished.

Shi Xianrou’s teasing had almost gone beyond the man’s tolerance, so she pressed no further. Otherwise, once Xiao Jinzi regained his senses, he’d be annoyed. “All this time, I’ve been following Uncle Qian to deal with the tea plantations in the suburbs and helped him for a while. I haven’t been able to find time to visit the Nanling King’s manor. Only Feng Qingbai has the channel to send letters  to Xinghua Village.”

She was explaining why she never sent him letters during this period.

This explanation slowly dissipated the remaining resentment in Qian Wanjin’s heart. He muttered, “Were you really busy? The Nanling King’s Manor is not far away.”

”It’s not that far, but when I’m busy, I don’t have time to go there. When I can, Feng Qingbai isn’t in the house. If this happens again next time, I’ll just directly block Feng Qingbai and try to send you a message.”

Qian Wanjin blushed and coughed lightly to ease his embarrassment.

It sounds as if he was being unreasonable. But just for a message, need she rack her brains to send me one?

Also, talk about blocking Feng Qingbai; although her martial arts were outstanding, she might not have a chance to win against Feng Qingbai.

Forget it, he’d be generous and forgive her this time.

”I left the tea plantations to my father before I left. Is he so useless that he still need to ask for your help?” Impossible, ah. Although his father had gotten older, his brain had not degenerated. Did he need to ask for help for small tea plantations?

”The Liu family in the capital has taken a shot at the tea plantations. When dogs are driven to a poor alley, they are bound to attack in retaliation. They can’t suppress your business, so they started from other areas to add more obstacles for you. They’ve targeting the tea plantation.” Shi Xianrou slowly narrated the happenings.

Not long after Qian Wanjin left the capital, Qian Baihao took over the nourishing tea and wine business and forced the Liu family backward step by step. His style was downright strong and tough, without regard for Consort Liu behind the Liu family.
