Chapter 409: She Could Go to Hell for Him.
Silence reigned in Liuyun Pavilion.
From the time the woman was carried back to the moment she was put to bed and covered, she neither made a sound nor said a word.
Her eyes were tightly closed, not looking at anyone.
The quilt was trembling, as was Liu Zhixia’s hand, which kept shaking.
Something seemed to be condensing and gathering in the air, making people suffocate. It was as if a gentle stir could lead to a destructive explosion.
Two light knocks sounded outside the door. Liu Zhixia looked at the steeply still corner of the quilt, stood up and walked out.
It was Wei Zi. When Liu Zhixia went out, he handed him something.
Seeing that item, Liu Zhixia pupils fiercely shrank with lights and shadows ebbing and flowing.
It was his medicinal pouch.
He took it and clutched it tightly in his palm, till the veins at the back of his hand pulsed.
He didn’t notice when Wei Zi left. Scenes flashed before his eyes, all of which were her being molested.
He could even imagine those despicable people, using his medicinal pouch as bait to lure her into their trap.
The hostility that gushed out of his heart turned sharper than sharp, tinged with a bloodthirsty tyranny.
He knew that with Feng Qingbai around, those people would definitely be punished, but he still wanted to tear those people to pieces himself!
Those people were simply presumptuous for claiming humanity!
Liu Zhixia slowly walked back to the room. Looking at the woman wrapped in the quilt, his heart constantly twinged.
It was for him that she suffered that humiliation.
”Yuzheng…” He walked to the bed and tremblingly and softly called out to her, “I will take you to bathe.”
The woman on the bed still did not respond.
Liu Zhixia picked her up and headed for the Liuyun Courtyards bathing pool, but his heart slowly began to sink.
People would close themselves for self-protection when subjected to excessive stimulation.
This was something he learned from his sister.
As was once the case with Axiu’s madness.
Fu Yuzheng, too, was now almost in that state.
Wooden, numb expression, empty eyes.
She was immersed in her own world without any reaction to the outside world.
That unless someone could pull her out.
Steam rose from the hot water that was poured in the bathing pool. After dismissing the maids who wanted to stay and serve, Liu Zhixia personally carried the woman to the edge of the bathing pool.
He knew that, with her pride, she would not want anyone to see her in such a dishevelment.
He placed her down, still unconscious and unaware.
Wrapped in his outer robe, she appeared hollowed out and did not respond to anything except that she was still shivering.
”Yuzheng.” Liu Zhixia closed his eyes, composed himself, picked her up again and dipped into the bathing pool with her, “I’ll help you.”
After saying that, he moved to untie her water-soaked and heavy outer robe.
But Fu Yuzheng abruptly slapped his hand and let out a scream.
She pushed and fought like crazy.
He seized her hands with force to confine her: “Yuzheng, Yuzheng! I’ll help you! I’m Zhixia!”
”I’m Zhixia, look at me!”
”Let me help you, Yuzheng. I’ll take care of you from now on!”
His repeated cries caused the person in his arms to gradually quiet down, and then stared blankly at him.
After a long time, he heard her voice, dry, cracked and hoarse, with a flat tone and wooden statement.
But each word permeated with the vicissitudes of her desolation.
She said, “I’m dirty, Zhixia.”
Liu Zhixia burst into tears.
”No, you’re not dirty at all.”
”They sullied me, Zhixia.”
”You’re not dirty, Yuzheng. You’re not dirty. What’s dirty is those people who hurt you. It’s their fault.”
She looked at him.
”It’s them who committed the crime. It’s them who did wrong, and you shouldn’t have to bear the consequences.” He caressed her cold cheek. “Don’t punish yourself like this, Yuzheng.”
It was said that men didn’t shed tears lightly; his tears stung her.
Fu Yuzheng smiled sadly and ripped off her outer robe. Before his eyes, the ghastly patches of bruises on her body struck his eyes.
At this moment, Fu Yuzheng had all but forgotten the shame. She pointed to the bruises on her body and questioned sharply, “See? So, am I still not dirty?”
Each of her bruises reminded her of those distorted, hideous faces that made her sick to her stomach and left her drenched in humiliation.
It made her wish to die immediately!
”If you think these are dirty, I’ll wipe them off for you.” Liu Zhixia raised his eyes. The shade of his eyes was so deep that she could hardly make out the depth. “Watch.”
He pulled off the gourd-shaped jade pendant hanging around his neck, uncorked the bottle, dipped his fingers into the liquid in the bottle, and wiped it on the darkest bruise on her wrist.
With the speed visible to the naked eye, the bruise quickly faded and disappeared!
Fu Yuzheng’s eyes rounded.
But the man did not stop moving. Gradually, those dirty spots disappeared before her very eyes!
He let her watch. He really helped her wipe off those dirty stains.
Tremblingly, she choked on her voice, “So, do-does this mean I’m not dirty?”
”Watch.”
He said softly. His eyes bored into hers, then his lips covered a spot where a bruise was before it disappeared.
Soon, a new red bruise reappeared on her jade white skin.
”Yuzheng, is it dirty?”
Fu Yuzheng trembled to the extreme, unable to speak.
Is it dirty?
It was evidently the same trace, but it didn’t bring her that disgusting feeling.
It was because his eyes were devoid of evil.
His kiss was without a trace of profanity.
Between his appearance and move, he cherished her as if she were the rarest treasure, and this reached her innermost being.
She did not resent or resist, more so because he was the man she loved.
She sat frozen in the water and let him wash away the filth from her body and the gloom from her heart.
It was nothing but pious and loving.
The water vapor in Fu Yuzheng’s dry eyes slowly coalesced, and finally converged into clear pearls, with one slipping downward.
It started to a silent whimper, to a low sob, and finally she let out a loud cry.
Liu Zhixia straightened up, embraced the crying woman into his arms, and remained silent.
It was better for her to cry it out.
Cry out all the grievances and pain so that her heart wouldn’t get sick.
The woman bathed and cleaned herself. He carried her back to her room and put her on the bed. Before leaving, he kissed her on the forehead: “Sleep well, I’ll be right next to you.”
The woman grabbed his hand firmly
Her lowered eyelashes trembled, like a butterfly ready to fall: “Zhixia, help me…”
Liu Zhixia’s pupils suddenly deepened: “Are you sure?”
”Help me.” She lifted her eyes and looked straight at him.
Only he could exorcise that nightmare for her.
As for what would happen later, she didn’t think about it, didn’t want to think about it.
Being with this man even just for a moment made her happy.
”Okay,” he whispered in her ear, “Yuzheng, from now on, I am your husband.”
She smiled and hugged him tightly around the neck, her tears raining down.
Liu Zhixia; she could go to hell for this man.
