Chapter 391: Li Junyue Seeks Medical Treatment

On the same night, someone in the Nanling King’s manor tossed and turned and had trouble sleeping.

He walked out of his bedroom and into Shengxiao Courtyard next door. In the cover of the night, slow footsteps echoed in every corner of the courtyard.

Her shadow was everywhere in the courtyard.

He could feel the scent of her life in every corner.

Late winter night in the capital was still bitingly cold.

But he didn’t feel cold at all.

In the end, he opened the door to her bedroom and habitually stood at the threshold for a while to dissipate the cold air he was carrying before slowly walking inside.

He lay down on her bed and pulled her quilt over his body.

The scent belonging to her instantly enveloped his entire being.

The thoughts that kept burning his whole heart to ashes were only then slightly relieved.

  Shengsheng ——

Cool thin lips covered her, wandering and sucking.

Big palms climbed up, and fingertips that seemed to carry flames, ignited as they wound their way up her body.

When Liu Yusheng woke up, her face was so red it was only short of smoking, so she covered herself in the blanket for a long time without moving.

How could she have had that kind of dream?

She heard him call her lovingly and fondly in her ear, Shengsheng.

  Dreams of him…

She quickly lifted the covers and rushed outside; she could no longer stay in the room.

The spring dream was all too real that even her bedroom seemed to be haloed with that flavor.

”Nannan, you’re up? Someone is looking for you.”

Just as she stepped out of her courtyard, she heard her Grandma laughing, joy evident in her voice.

Liu Yusheng was puzzled; “Grandma, who is looking for me? “

This morning, except for those who came to seek medical treatment, she couldn’t think of anyone who sought her and made her grandma so happy.

Talking about friends, except for Qian Wanjin, Shi Xianrou and Fu Yuzheng, she had no other friends.

While she was wondering, she saw someone coming out of the kitchen.

  ”Miss Liu, you’re up.”

”Miss Li?” It was Li Junyue. No wonder her Grandma was so happy. Her Second Brother was bound to suffer again.

Li Junyue nodded and approached with a veil covering her face: “I came a little early. You have not yet risen, so I did not bother you. Miss Liu, I am here to seek medical help.”

Liu Yusheng frowned and took the person to her small consultation room: “Miss Li, you were fine yesterday. Why did you suddenly come to seek treatment?”

Li Junyue slowly uncovered the veil on her face, revealing a face covered with red rashes that were entirely horrifying: “I was fine yesterday. I didn’t find anything wrong after I returned, but unexpectedly, after a night’s sleep, my face turned out like this, and my body too. That’s why I came to disturb you, Miss Liu.”

The doctors in the town were all men. She couldn’t lift her clothes to show men the swelling that grew on her body for the sake of healing.

After diagnosing her pulse, Liu Yusheng lowered her head and wrote a prescription: “I think you ate something you shouldn’t have eaten, causing your body to overreact. It is commonly known as allergies. I’ll prescribe medicine for you. Take the medicine after you go back for two days and you’ll get better.”

”Allergies?” Li Junyue was surprised: “But I have not eaten anything except regular meals. I also ate the same meal with my family, but they had no problems. Why did I have rashes alone?”

”Everyone’s constitution is different. If you eat something you’re allergic to, others may not have the same reaction. Or you may have touched something unintentionally, but you don’t know it yourself.” Liu Yusheng smiled and handed her the prescription: “These are all common herbs, which are available in the town’s pharmacies.”

  ”Thank you, Miss Liu.”

  ”You’re welcome.”

After receiving the prescription and paying the consultation fee, Li Junyue got up and said goodbye. Liu Yusheng nodded but did not stand to see her off.

Warm greetings soon resounded in the courtyard.

”Why are you leaving so soon? I have prepared breakfast, so stay and eat something first. You don’t have to hurry, it’s early.”

”Grandma Liu, I’m sorry. I have to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine…”

”There is no hurry. I just cooked a few steamed buns and boiled some porridge. It won’t take long for you to finish eating.”

Liu Yusheng smacked her forehead in the small consultation room in helplessness. She knew it would be like this.

Someone was eyeing her Second Brother. If an opportunity arose, she must mention it to him, lest something inevitable happen in the future.

”Nannan, come and eat breakfast. I’ve made the green vegetable porridge you love.”

  ”Yeah, coming!”

Grandma Liu raised her voice and shouted one by one toward the courtyards. With a lively morning, the day in the Liu family compound unfolded.

One by one, Grandma Liu called a roomful of people, and the round table in the kitchen was soon surrounded.

The Lius had long been accustomed to having an extra person on the table. In addition, they all knew what happened in the courtyard, so no one was surprised.

Only a few women’s eyes flashed meaningfully. From time to time, they shot glances at Li Junyue, and then occasionally gave Liu Zhiqiu a look.

Li Junyue’s face slowly reddened under those gazes.

Liu Zhiqiu was totally oblivious to it. He held his bowl of porridge and gorged on it: “Grandma, your porridge just smells good. I never get tired of eating it.”

  ”Smooth-tongued,” Grandma Liu razzed.

”With that mouth of his, what food can’t he like,” Liu Erlin spat.

”That’s right. As long as it’s made by Grandma, what don’t I love to eat?”

Liu Zhiqiu’s cheekiness drew laughter and derision from the family. Thus, the whole breakfast table was lively and cheerful.

During the meal, Liu Yusheng observed Li Junyue’s expression without a trace.

But because of the rashes on her face, and in fear of being rude, Li Junyue did not take her veil down even while eating. She only took a steamed bun, tore them into small pieces, and stuffed them into her mouth.

Obscured by her veil, not a hint of her expression was visible at all.

Liu Zhiqiu also acted as if he did not see Li Junyue. It was as if she did not exist, and he did not say a word to her throughout breakfast

”Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle, Auntie, parents, I am full. I’m heading to the ridge to check on the medicine field now. It will be spring soon. I will till the ground first, and then compost it with some fertilizer, ready for the sowing of the seeds.”

”Okay, go ahead.” Liu Erlin nodded, “I’ll leave the piece on the ridge to you. Your uncle and I will then till the piece at the foot of the mountain.”

As spring was about to begin, the villagers who had been idle all winter were already busy preparing for spring planting.

A casual walk through the village at this time of year would reveal a vibrant scene.

Liu Zhiqiu put down his bowl and left the dining room without forgetting to admonish Grandma Liu, “Grandma, use hot water when washing the dishes. Don’t pay attention to the warm weather and try to save trouble then use cold water. We can afford that little firewood.”

”Come on, why are you so garrulous? You’re like an old lady, nagging me every time you go out.” Grandma Liu sounded disgusted, but her eyes were all smiles. “I don’t save firewood!”

”The brat is hinting at me. I got up a little late this morning, so he’s worried that I didn’t boil hot water for you.”

The elders’ verbal sparring made the people at the table laugh.

Li Junyue had been quietly eating, but her eyes were fixed outside the veil, with a curved arc. She seemed to be infected by the atmosphere at the breakfast table.

After eating the steamed bun in her hand, Li Junyue stood up and said goodbye. This time, Grandma Liu did not hold her back anymore. She only said, “If you have time, come here and play. There are many young people in the family. You are all acquainted, so don’t be restrained.”

  ”I know, Grandma Liu.”

When the little girl left, Grandma Liu sighed. “Why is that brat, Zhiqiu, not enlightened? He’s always confused and doesn’t fancy anyone. I really don’t know what kind of girl can win him over.”
