FID – Chapter 361

Chapter 361: Kang Shiming’s purpose

Liu Yusheng seemed to have a magic power on her.

Anyone who got close to her would be infected.

It made people involuntarily drift closer to the right track.

After treating the last person who had caught wind chill, Liu Yusheng’s wrists and neck were already tired and stiff.

After sitting for too long, her entire spine began to tingle.

Even at home, she did not see so many patients in a short period of time.

It was super high load.

She didn’t know if Kang Shiming and the others’ arrival was a coincidence or if they were right on time, but they came over just as she finished her work.

“Miss Liu, it must have been a tiring morning today. I thank you on behalf of the villagers of Duanqiao Village for your helping hand.”

“Lord Kang need not do so. I am just doing what I can. It’s within the limits of my ability.” She healed and saved people, not for Kang Shiming, and not for a thank you.

Looking at the late hour, she still had to rush to the next disaster-stricken village. It was too late, so she probably had to wait for tomorrow to continue.

Before leaving, Liu Yusheng took the medicine Wei Hong brought back and handed it to the middle-aged man who was still lying on the bed.

At this time, he had an additional woman by his side and a boy of ten years old.

“This is your medicine, a dose, a pack. Decoct it into a bowl of water, and take it twice a day. This medicine is not free. I will bear it in mind and wait for you to pay the money in the future. My home is in Xinghua Village, just come to the door.”

The man looked at Liu Yusheng, slowly raised his hand to take the medicine, and said “Thank you, Little Divine Doctor.” He choked on his words.

The woman beside him was already sobbing uncontrollably.

The boy immediately kneeled on the ground and bowed three times towards Liu Yusheng. “We will definitely remember Sister Divine Doctor’s kindness. We will certainly pay the medicine cost in your home!”

Liu Yusheng smiled. She stretched her hand and rubbed the boy’s head. “I’ll remember, get up. Real men do not surrender easily, so don’t kneel down and worship at will in the future.”

The boy raised his head and looked fixedly at Liu Yusheng for a moment, then suddenly said, “Sister Divine Doctor, if I succeed in my studies in the future, can I go to your winery to work for you?”

This sentence not only caught the middle-aged man and woman off guard, but also the crowd around the door.

Children were really innocent and knew nothing about the complexity of things. They dared to say anything.

What place was the Xinghua Village winery? The entire Cangwu Town and even the entire Xiangshan County people wanted to squeeze in that place.

There were high monthly wages, bonuses, dividends, and generous benefits during the annual festival.

If Xinghua Village recruited people, could it be the turn of a yellow-haired kid like him?

Others would have long squeezed him aside.

Unfortunately, Xinghua Villager winery only recruited its villagers to work. They never recruited outsiders.

Over the years, many people had asked their relatives to put in a good word for them in order to work there. But they were all rejected.

No one has ever succeeded.

Over time, everyone also gave up that thought, knowing that it was impossible to enter that place.

So even if Liu Yusheng, the owner of the winery, was right in front of them, no one dared to ask.

“Brat, what nonsense are you talking about?” The woman came back to her senses and immediately went to drag the boy who was still kneeling on the ground, while nervously apologizing with Liu Yusheng, “Little Divine Doctor, please don’t blame him. He is still a young child, talking recklessly…”

The Little Divine Doctor just finished helping them treat illnesses and save others, yet the child asked such a question. Wouldn’t it make her think that they were taking advantage of her?

Liu Yusheng’s face didn’t frown but asked with interest, “Since you’re going to achieve success in your studies, you should shine. Why do you want to be subservient to others and be a long term-hired hand?”

“Our family is poor, and it is very difficult for my parents to support my studies. My father got injured this time, but he didn’t even bother to seek medical treatment and left me the money instead. If I become outstanding in school, I will be able to shine in the future. But I don’t want my parents to suffer for me for so many years. I want to be able to provide for my parents sooner than to take the exams that are useless except for gaining a reputation!”

The boy’s voice sounded immature, but when his words fell to the ground, it rendered everyone around silent for a long time.

Liu Yusheng smiled again, “If you succeed in your studies, then I can consider it.”

The boy’s eyes immediately lit up. “A gentleman’s word!”

“Is his bond.”

The carriage from the county office left.

Kang Shiming, Liu Yusheng and the other people left by carriage.

However, long after they left, the people in the house did not disperse, and they were still immersed in the scene just now, unable to return to their senses.

Until someone spoke up, “Just now, the Little Divine Doctor said she’ll consider it. Does that mean that Xinghua Village Winery will probably outsource in the future?”

“It must be!” In the silent room, a heated discussion erupted on this topic.

Even the gloom brought by the snowstorm was burned clean by this enthusiasm.

“The Little Divine Doctor’s words mean that she may recruit outside in the future! Think about it. Since she said it, how can it not count? Her word count. Maybe we really have that hope to enter the winery in the future!”

“Don’t be too happy too early. The winery is just that big, but the villagers of Xinghua Village have filled up all the positions. It’s not easy to recruit one more person in. How can they recruit eight, ten, or a hundred people?”

“What if the winery is expanded?”

“Indeed, the winery business is so good. I heard that the wine produced and sold on the market is never enough, so there must be limited supplies provided. It’s really possible that it will be expanded!”

These discussions were unknown to Liu Yusheng.

Kang Shiming sent her and Wei Hong back to Xinghua Village, and left after agreeing to go to Yunshui Village the next day together.

When Liu Yusheng returned home, she realized that her family actually did something big in only one after she had left.

After discussing with the village chief, her grandpa obtained the villagers’ unanimous agreement to contribute and help the surrounding affected villages. With her father and second uncle on the lead, they would start to visit each village tomorrow and help rebuild the collapsed houses.

Her grandma, with her mother and second aunt, collected a large batch of supplies from various households in an afternoon of work.

Her second brother and Wei Lan ruled the kitchen with two big stoves. They were enthusiastically decocting pots of medicinal herbs in the slow fire and filled the entire Liu family’s yard with medicinal flavor.

Her elder brother and Fu Yuzheng have driven the carriage to the nearest village to send soup and medicine, and they have yet to return.

The lazy Xue Qinglian was unable to be idle today. He was oppressed to seriously entertain the people who came to Liu’s for medical treatment. He had been laboring for a long time and had just taken a break.

It was simply the essence of the saying, a community of spirit and purpose would accomplish wonders.

As for the granny from Potou Village, Liu Yusheng had been busy today and only heard after returning that once her leg gets better in the next few days, her family would come to pick her up. They refused to disturb the Liu family any longer.

Looking around the seemingly deserted courtyard and thinking about what the family was currently busy with, Liu Yusheng was even more deeply touched.

In fact, she knew that Kang Shiming would come and ask her to accompany him today, nominally because he needed her medical help, but actually for another purpose.

It was to let her see with her own eyes the original appearance of the villages outside Xinghua Village.

Take a look at those old and dilapidated houses, see the current living conditions of the people at the bottom, look at the weather-beaten faces, and those pairs of blank and bleak eyes.

He wanted her to be touched by these and make certain decisions.

As the person who changed the village, since she could develop a village like Xinghua, she could create a second. This was Kang Shiming’s purpose.
