IHWL – Chapter 84

Chapter 84: Three-Line Love Letter

Inside, the lively action brought forth fragrance.

As clothes disappeared, Su Jishi was blocked between the door panel and the man’s body, and the two equally hot bodies tightly fitted. Her hands locked his back, leaving deep crimson scratches.

“Hiss …” Mu Xiulun felt the stinging pain coming from his back and laughed at her, “Are you a cat?”

“No.” She gasped lightly. Her plump lips covered Adam’s apple as she whispered, “A leopard.”

She had never been a well-behaved, cuddly cat. She would rather be a leopard, lying alone in the treetops. She would never be conquered by someone, but would take the initiative to find a partner that would satisfy her.

It just happened that Mu Xiulun was that person.

When Su Jishi was dragged into the abyss of desire, a thought suddenly popped in her head:… It seems that when men are impulsive, they are similar to geological disasters.

——The pressure accumulated inside was dying to be released. The longer it was suppressed, the more serious the consequences would be.

At first, it was P-wave and S-wave appearing one after another, with a light shaking up and down, then a slight shaking from side to side.

As the amplitude became larger, the vibration became more intense. Immediately after, the two superimposed, mixed into a more powerful wave, and each wave was exactly in the most vulnerable place. Even the most experienced geologists had no way to tell where the next blast would go, and how strong it would be.

Su Jishi rested her hands on his shoulders, relying only on two toes on the ground. Her posture made her involuntarily surrender tight.

It felt like a volcano erupted  in her body. Scorching, hot magma gushed out, and she was in the middle of that hot stream. She had no way to escape, and could only passively wait for the lava invasion.

After the volcano erupted, there was a series of aftershocks.

Su Jishi had no idea that aftershocks would be so long and complicated. Her limited energy was swallowed up by those endless aftershocks. She barely leaned on his arms, so tired that she couldn’t even open her eyes.

The man picked her up compassionately and took her to the bathroom to wash off her sticky body.

She thought she could finally rest. The warm hot water kissed her skin, making her bones tingle. She could not resist a comfortable sigh —— and somehow triggered a ‘tsunami’.

A tsunami was caused by the vibration of the seabed, giving rise to terrifying waves beating against the shore, surging wave after wave.

In the midst of the waves, Su Jishi was like a lost boat, dancing on the tip of the waves. She was lifted up by the waves and swept to the deeper bottom.

This feeling was both comfortable and uncomfortable. She closed her eyes and let the tide roll her up and send her to the other side.

    ……

When the clouds finally closed and a calm settled after the storm, the man carried Su Jishi up from the water, wiped her clean of the water droplets and carried her back into the bedroom.

She rolled into the layers of bedding and was about to close her eyes to rest when a heat source suddenly came up behind her.

Mu Xiulun embraced her from behind, letting her bare back rest against his chest and her head rest in the crook of his arm.

The man’s other hand rested on her waist, stroking the curve of her body, slowly, gently, up and down.

This kind of warmth, however, was something Su Jishi could not enjoy. She held on to her last ounce of strength and grabbed the phone under the pillow to check the time — only to find that the promised ‘five hours’ had actually long been overdue!

She said, “If you do not leave, won’t you miss your return flight?”

But Mu Xiulun smiled and replied, “It’s okay. For you, it’s okay to miss the flight.”

    Su Jishi: “…”

She thought angrily, “Your chicken is okay, but my waist and my ass are damn not!

    ……

She was so tired that she fell asleep on her pillow, and by the time she woke up again, it was light out.

Su Jishi was lying in the back of the nanny car in a daze, completely unable to remember how she moved from the hotel bed to here.

Her back was sore and weak, and a wave of weakness rippled out from her bones. She recalled last night’s madness and didn’t resist cursing Mu Xiulun twice more.

“Sister Su, you’re awake?!” Xiao Xia heard her voice and rushed over to greet her.

The carriage swayed slightly. Su Jishi propped up her sore and limp body and looked out the window.

She saw the sun shining brightly outside the window and the wheels rolling over white fine snow, splashing countless ice chips.

And in front of the nanny car was the crew’s bus that she was familiar with.

“What’s going on?” Su Jishi had just woken up from a nap, which, coupled with a crazy night last night, caused her confusion.

Xiao Xia hurriedly brought her hot milk and breakfast, and gave her a quick explanation of the circumstances.

Yesterday, the crew finished filming their original content at Ulungur Lake. According to the plan, this morning while the sky was good, the team would make up a few shots and go back home in the afternoon, back to Koktokay and continue their next shooting.

Xiao Xia was dizzy last night and was driven away by Su Jishi, so she didn’t sleep all night. She realized something was wrong in hindsight and rushed to Su Jishi’s door before dawn today and knocked on the door wildly.

Beyond all expectations, after she rang the doorbell three times —— The one to open turned out to be President Mu!

And the first thing that Mu Xiulun said was, “Su Jishi is not feeling well, so she won’t be joining the morning shoot”.

Recalling this, Xiao Xia gave Su Jishi a leisurely glance.

There was no doubt what was written in her bright eyes: I, Pipi Xia, have watched countless films. Whatever happened after I left you last night, I guessed it all!!

But well, Su Jishi had never known what ‘shyness’ meant, so she met Xiao Xia’s teasing gaze and calmly asked, “And then?”

“Afterwards, there’s no more.” When Xiao Xia saw her cold reaction, she pouted. “It is quite easy to ask for leave. You know, Director Zheng and the Chief Producer are particularly fond of you. Anyway, you have a lot of good quality shots, so there’s no effect if you failed to make up for the shooting. I thought President Mu was going to follow us to Koktokay, but I didn’t expect that he’d leave after breakfast —— Oh, he arranged this car before he left. He knew you didn’t want to get special treatment, so he gave each artist one.”

In a larger city, it would have been too easy to arrange a nanny car. But in the remote frontier, in order to facilitate transportation, the most common were only pickup trucks and dump trucks. Nanny cars were too difficult to find. The artists had to travel back and forth between the two places, so the program group could only squeeze in the bus together with them.

Nobody knew through what channel Mu Xiulun arranged so many nanny cars overnight just to make Su Jishi rest better.

“By the way, there is one more thing!” Talking about gossip, Xiao Xia is extra excited: “President Mu is very low-key. The other artists didn’t know that the five nanny cars are President Mu’s arrangement and thought it was the program crew’s arrangement! Zhou Jing naturally was deprived of a car, so she ran to find Director Zheng and threw a tantrum. She felt that the program group was neglecting her! It never occurred to her she was just an 18th-tier Flying Guest and had the nerve to kick up a fuss in the hotel. She was so loud that the whole corridor heard her. As a result, she happened to bump into President Mu leaving —— President Mu glanced at her from afar through the crowd, scaring her so much that she immediately fled with her tail between her legs!”

    “Fled?”

“Yes! Originally, she cheekily wanted to hitchhike to Koktokay and mix in for a few more shots, but President Mu merely glared at her. Then she packed her bags and ran away without saying a word! All the same, just before we left, the Art Administrator called her, only to find her room empty!”

Xiao Xia had long been displeased at Zhou Jing. She always felt that every pore in her body was emitting the I am the villainess and the vicious cannon fodder aura. In those she had read, this cannon fodder would certainly rely on their negative IQ to run against the protagonist day after day, disgusting people. Finally, she was pinched to death by the protagonist.

But then, it was also good that Zhou Jing fled so neatly. Xiao Xia put her palms together devoutly and sincerely prayed for her to walk splits, drink cold water to plug her teeth, bite her tongue, help old ladies and get blackmailed, every piece of potatoes in her dish was ginger, and all her means of transportations delayed!

She was so happy with herself that she didn’t notice Su Jishi lying sickly on the seat, unable to lift her spirits.

Although, before this meeting, Su Jishi knew that Mu Xiulun took extra time to fly to Xinjiang to see her; at the time of the warmth, she also actively urged him to leave… but after their first passion, she woke up without seeing her partner; this taste was indeed strange.

It was hard to say that she felt sour. And it was also far from being lonely.

Su Jishi had never asked for pampering, but at this moment, she suddenly wanted to hear Mu Xiulun’s voice.

Her finger hesitated on the dial button on her phone, but in her heart, she was thinking: Under the circumstances, he obviously should take the initiative to call me, no?

“Ah, I almost forgot!” Xiao Xia suddenly took her small shoulder bag, “When President Mu saw that you were sleeping, he didn’t disturb you. Before he left, he left a letter with me, telling me to give it to you when you wake up.”

As she spoke, she opened her small backpack and took out a sticky note.

The paper was light beige with horizontal stripes printed on it. Who knew which notebook Mu Xiulun had torn it from? The four corners of it were neatly aligned, folded and stacked together. Through the back of the paper, traces of writing were faintly visible.

Su Jishi did not expect at all that Mu Xiulun would use this most primitive method to leave a message for her.

Xiao Xia scratched her head, grinning broadly and comforting her stupidly: “In fact, when President Mu gave this to me, I asked him if he isn’t afraid of me peeking. President Mu said he isn’t afraid. He said it’s because I absolutely can’t understand it… Sister Su, Sister Su, quickly open it. I’m really too curious!”

    “Oh?”

Su Jishi raised her eyebrows. She also wanted to know that kind of message only she could understand.

So she took it and opened it.

    ——The letter was surprisingly short.

It was so short that there were only three lines.

There was no header or a signature.

The handwriting was spontaneous and quick, but at the same time powerful. Su Jishi could imagine how much emotion the man poured into writing this string of words ——

    [As far as I’m concerned,

You are the warm water flowing through Murmansk.

You are also the long river that fills the depths of the Amazon.]

    Su Jishi was quite stunned.

People might not understand this three-line poem with no end, but Su Jishi could.

Murmansk was a port city in the far north of Russia. It was located within the Arctic Circle, and there was a month and a half of polar night in a year, during which the sun would sink below the horizon and the North Star would hang nearly vertically high in the sky.

It was reasonable to say that in such a geographical location, it should be extremely cold there. But in fact, it was the only ‘ice free port’ in Russia, because of the warm North Atlantic current passing through it.

It was the passing current that changed the fate of the city, bringing it warmth and hope.

The third line of the poem referred to the Amazon Basin, the world’s largest basin.

All impact basins were formed at the estuary of the river: for hundreds of millions of years, the river water swept back and forth, flattening the mountains and filling the gullies.

The power of the river was both powerful and violent, but also delicate and gentle.

And in Mu Xiulun’s heart, Su Jishi was the long river that melted him with her warm current and changed his long river.
